Peter Fine was appointed president and chief executive officer of Phoenix, Arizona based Banner Health in November 2000. Banner Health is one of the nation’s largest secular, nonprofit healthcare organizations operating 28 hospitals and other services in six states. Banner employs more than 49,000 people, has more than $7.8 billion dollars in revenue and is Arizona’s largest private employer. Prior to his appointment, he was executive vice president and COO of Milwaukee, Wisconsin based Aurora Health Care, a large integrated system serving all of eastern Wisconsin. His previous position with Aurora was president, West Allis Memorial Hospital.

Chip Kahn

Chip Kahn is the president and chief executive officer of the Federation of American Hospitals, the national advocacy organization for investor-owned hospitals. A job he has held since 2001. Chip’s extensive health policy expertise, outstanding leadership abilities, and lengthy Capitol Hill experience, combined with his proven campaign and communications skills make him one of Washington, DC’s most effective and accomplished trade association executives. He is one of only five health care leaders who have appeared on Modern Healthcare magazine’s annual “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” list since its inception.

Rick Pollack

President and Chief Executive Officer

American Hospital Association

Rick Pollack was elected president and chief executive officer of the American Hospital Association in May 2015. He joined the AHA in 1982, where he has been a member of the advocacy team for over three decades. He served as associate director for legislation, and then vice president for federal relations and deputy director of the AHA Washington Office. He began his career in D.C. in 1976, when he went to work as a legislative assistant to Rep. David Obey of Wisconsin. Under his leadership, the AHA launched AHAPAC, now one of the largest health care political action committees in the U.S., supporting congressional candidates who support hospitals and patients.

Tony Barrueta is senior vice president of Government Relations for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals. He is responsible for guiding the development of Kaiser Permanente's public policy positions and leading Government Relations teams in Oakland, Sacramento, and Washington, D.C. Since 1994, Barrueta has held several positions in Kaiser Permanente’s Government Relations department including vice president, senior counsel, and counsel. Previously, Barrueta was in private law practice in Washington, D.C. Barrueta received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is licensed to practice law in California and the District of Columbia.
